Ben Caukwell

Ben began  singing in local choirs in his teens. Since then he has become known as a rising talent the choral world, and as a soloist. He has been on overseas tours with the New Zealand Secondary Students Choir, the New Zealand Youth Choir, and the Christchurch Cathedral Choir. He has sung as a soloist with Cantores Chamber Choir and Christchurch City Choir, and has featured as guest artist in a number of concerts. Ben has won numerous awards, including Most Promising Singer Under 21, and this year received an Arts Excellence Award from the Dame Malvina Major Foundation. In May last year he played a lead role in a Menotti opera double bill. He has recently completed an Honours’ degree at Canterbury University with his teacher Vernon Midgley.
